In the wealthiest country on Earth, we should have the best systems and programs of anywhere in the world. But we lag far behind all other developed nations in nearly every category. Health care, education, and humane immigration policies are human rights. We can work together to build the best green infrastructure, provide universal health-care access, graduate the best and the brightest from our public schools, overhaul our criminal justice system, and re-build the middle class.
We must take this opportunity to redesign and build our infrastructure, our transportation, our consumption, and even our financial investments.
If we are the richest country in the world and Mexico has a better system of caring for its citizens and residents, we need to rethink how we prioritize our health and our lives.
We need to fix our broken criminal justice system now to guarantee that the law is truly just.
New York has a rich history as a destination for people from around the world to live and work. Because of this, our country’s broken immigration system greatly impacts all of us.
